Nepal

Nepal is among the poorest countries in the world. Half the population lives below the poverty line and about one third live without safe drinking water. These people live mostly in rural areas and have no access to basic needs such as food, health and education. Half of the children are malnourished and underweight. Half of the people are unemployed in Nepal, a country where the average income is less than $200 per year.

I became aware of these situations after my first visit to Nepal in 2005 when I had the opportunity to meet a  friendly family living in a very poor house in Chitwan area. How many people living in there with no basic conditions at all. Plus the place would get all flooded during the monsoon season...
I tried to help them along the following years and they could finally buy a new land and build a new house. They also bought buffalos and went on with the tailoring jobs.

So this was my bed when I last visited them.
And this was the start that would lead to Humanity Mountains.

Humanity Mountains mission became to help others in need, especially children facing great obstacles such as lack of proper healthcare, education, food and shelter. We are concerned in providing a quality education to disadvantged children in Nepal to give them the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty of their families.
